Find A Trustworthy Harare Estate Agents
It’s important to feel comfortable with the personality and integrity of your real estate agent. Selling your home (or buying one) can be a rather stressful task, so choosing someone you trust and get along with is vital to easing the process.
Is your real estate agency registered In Zimbabwe?
Every legitimate real estate agency in Zimbabwe is registered with the Estate Agents Council. In Zimbabwe, there are a number of unregistered agencies operating illegally. At best, they will give you poor advice, at worst, they’ll be out to steal your money.
Expert In his field?
Before you accept advice from any estate agent in Harare, on houses for sale in Zimbabwe, make sure they’re experts. Find out how long they’ve been in business, how much experience they have etc. Find out what sort of transactions they’ve had the most success in etc. Buying a house in Zimbabwe is a huge investment – ensure you’re getting good advice.
Good Marketing System
How does your estate agency intent to market your house for sale? Newspaper advertising, online marketing, through their contact network etc? Get samples of previous marketing (if possible) or at least visit their website(s). The more exposure an agent can provide your property, the greater the chance of getting a good price in good time.
Usually a sole agency agreement will encourage your agent to spend a lot more time, money and energy on promoting your property in Zimbabwe. That’s because they are much more likely to secure a commission than by being just one of a few agencies you’re dealing with.
Optimistic about the value
This is a tricky one – on one hand you want your estate agent to be positive about getting a good deal, BUT on the other hand you want them to be honest enough to tell you when you’re expecting too much. An optimistic agent will attempt higher figures and is likely to market more aggressively for you. Best to choose an agency you trust, then be realistic (and smart) enough to trust their recommendations and advice.
